John died on the 23rd August 2009 after a long illness. May he find calm seas and fair winds RIP

John served on the Lochfyne, Orion, Torquay, then was in Raleigh then on board Euryalus.
After that he was on the Danae from there he left the service for 3 years and then rejoined.
He was in Sultan again for a short time then joined the Leander, back to Sultan then did a
commission on the Hermes. Following that he was an instructor for new entries at Raleigh for
12 months. He went back to the Leander and then was in Drake for two years. He worked In
the casualty action centre when the Falklands war was on. His last ship was HMS Danae which
we both thought was an appropriate way to finish his service in the RN
